Ms.
G. B. Malkani
On
the road of life, we meet many different characters of
varying ilk. Some remain memorable. One
teacher who will ever remain memorable is Late Ms. G. B.
Malkani.
She
was a lady down-to-earth. Most of the time, she used to
wear white saree. She looked very elegant, calm &
confidant.

She
was the Head of Junior School of the Daly College. She
also used to teach students English.
There
were many students who did not know how to write or
speak in English especially those who were coming from
rural background and were sponsored candidates from the
Government of India.
Madam
Malkani used to take painstaking efforts to train these
students. She had challenging task to prepare these
students in very less time.
She
had a book named as "Look, Listen & Learn"
which she had brought from U.K. where she had studied. She
used to keep her 'Look, Listen & Learn' book in her
hand like a baby.
She would hold the book in a blue color hand towel to
prevent soiling the book. Her
hands used to sweat a lot. Still, her book used to be as
new as if it has just been bought.
Students
used to practice in "Look, Listen & Learn"
workbooks.
Every
moment of her presence was a learning experience for her
pupil. She used to work late hours on weekdays with
students. Even on Sundays, she would call on students
and work full day.
She
was extremely unbiased and used to give justice to
all. She would listen problems of students and
would resolve them. She taught us how to get faith in
us. She boosted our morale and because of that we feel
comfortable and easy.
She
was very compassionate. She had a passion for teaching
which was unparallel.
She
died of cancer. We cried a lot.
The
values she taught us still guide us.
We, the
beneficiaries , Salute Ms. Malkani.
